Reducing the carbon footprint in the synthesis of fertilizers is a new challenge, which is necessary to have sustainable products designed to minimize the environmental impacts during the whole life-cycle.
Energy transition from fossil fuel to green fuel makes available sustainable hydrogen, which can be used to reduce the carbon footprint of existing plants.
The Green Hydrogen injection into “fossil fuel-based” plant is called “hybridization”.
Casale has been active since several years in the development and the application of different solutions for the ammonia plant hybridization, based on its experience in fertilizer plants design as well as in green and blue technologies.
About this presentation
This presentation will provide an overview for common issues related to plant hybridization and how Casale can deal with them, providing technological solutions, like a specific catalyst for its ammonia converters, the so called “Amomax-Casale™”, jointly developed by Casale and Clariant.
About your speaker
Mr. Genova graduated in chemical engineering from Milan Polytechnic in 2011.
He has been working with CASALE since 2011, initially as Technology Engineer. He hold the position of Process Engineer in the Syngas Process Department since 2013, engaged in the ammonia and methanol new plant design, revamping solutions and proprietary equipment design.
In 2017 he became Senior Process Engineer, mainly involved in CO2 Capture applied to new Fertilizer Complex.
In 2021 he has appointed as Green Technology Leader, committed to Green and Blue Technology application for Ammonia, Methanol & Hydrogen.
